Frustrated with Apple: Considering a Switch

I'm extremely frustrated with my Apple experience and am considering

abandoning the ecosystem altogether. The issues I'm facing are really

troubling and making my life difficult. Specifically, on my Mac, I'm unable

to restart my laptop without losing all my open windows and tabs. This is

a feature I took for granted on Windows devices, where I could always

recover mv previous session. The lack of this functionality on Mac is a

significant inconvenience and has me rethinking my loyalty to Apple.

First off: No system is perfect for everybody, and if the Apple ecosystem isn't right for you then the sensible thing is to move to one that suits you better.


However, when I restart my Mac it does exactly that, but then I'm on the current OS, so I don't know if that makes a difference. Or, do you have to restart your Mac? I restart mine for system updates and let it sleep otherwise. Perhaps you have more options here than you think, and all of them a lot less expensive that swapping hardware...
