Here is: What to do if you get an alert that an AirTag, set of AirPods, Find My network accessory, or compatible Bluetooth location-tracking device is with you - Apple Support

You can turn off alerts for that device indefinitely, if the owner of the device is part of your Family Sharing group.

From the above document: ”If you're borrowing an AirTag or another item compatible with the Find My network from a member of your Family Sharing group, you can turn off alerts for that item for one day or indefinitely.”

Hello,

I understand that you're receiving notifications from Find My indicating that your child's AirPods are traveling with you, and I'd be happy to help you resolve this issue. Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot the problem.

1. Verify AirPods Ownership and Connection

  • Confirm Ownership: First, please make sure that the AirPods you're seeing notifications for are indeed your child's. Double-check the serial number on the case if necessary.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that the AirPods are paired with your child's device and not accidentally connected to yours.

2. Review Find My Settings

  • Open the Find My App: On your iPad Pro, open the Find My app.
  • Check Devices: Go to the Devices tab and locate your child's AirPods in the list. They should appear under the devices linked to your Apple ID if they are associated with your account.

3. Inspect Location Notifications

  • Check Notifications: Review the notifications you’ve received to see if they indicate that the AirPods are moving with you or if they are stationary.
  • Verify Last Location: Look at the map in the Find My app to check the last known location of the AirPods and confirm if it matches your current location.

4. Manage AirPods Settings

  • Disconnect and Reconnect: Go to Settings on your iPad, tap Bluetooth, and find the AirPods. Tap the “i” icon next to them, then select Forget This Device. Afterward, reconnect the AirPods to your child’s device.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your AirPods are running the latest firmware. Firmware updates are generally automatic, but you can check the status in the Bluetooth settings.

5. Check for Unauthorized Access

  • Review Device List: Ensure that the AirPods are not signed in with any other Apple ID. They should be linked only to your child’s Apple ID.

6. Reset the AirPods

  • Perform a Reset: Place both AirPods in the charging case and open the lid. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes amber and then white. This will reset the AirPods.
  • Re-pair with Device: After resetting, open the case near your child's device to reconnect the AirPods.

7. Review Security Settings

  • Check Find My Settings: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Find My on your iPad. Ensure that Find My iPad is enabled.
  • Location Sharing: Verify that the location sharing settings are correctly configured and that your child’s device isn’t being tracked mistakenly.

8. Contact Apple Support

  • Further Assistance: If the issue persists after following these steps, I recommend contacting Apple Support directly. They can provide more in-depth assistance and help resolve any potential issues with your Apple ID or device settings.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance or if you have any other questions!
