How to change your child's age on their apple account

If you are getting an error/server error as a parent when trying to authorize an age change for your child's apple account under the family sharing plan here is how to do it:

The primary blocker on getting this to work is that the parent apple account MUST have valid credit card under Media and purchases in the settings. Here is where to look on your iphone

Settings

>Tap on your apple ID avatar/icon

>Tap on Media & Purchases

>Tap on Manage Payments

The first credit card in the list must be valid (I had to delete out my paypal account to make this work).

Once I did this, I went back to the email I received requesting to authorizing the birthdate change and when I clicked on accept it worked!

This hack was taught to me by the poor guy on apple support who had explained this like 2000 times. You're welcome!

Also - I had to pick a date that was a few days in the future to get this to work. Today, tomorrow, the past wasn't allowed.
