Parental Control is not working on my son's Iphone XR

I control my 12 yo son's Iphone XR thorugh my Iphone, also an XR.

I selected the time for it to be deactivated (9.30 pm to 11 am), the time limits f each app, the allowed apps etc. Well, nothing works. The only thing that works is the distance from the screen.

For example: I selected BrowlStarts to be blocked after 20 minutes of use, but the activity record says he has been using it for 3 hours. Same with instagram, tiktok, etc.

HOW CAN I ACTUALLY MAKE IT WORK?

Also another issue is that I would like to group certain apps and set a time for the apps all together, no matter which one he chooses to use, the total time has to be X. But apparently it sums up...

Thank you for your help.

To troubleshoot parental controls issues on your son's iPhone XR, follow these steps:

1. Update both devices to the latest iOS version.

2. Verify Family Sharing and Screen Time settings on both devices.

3. Check app limits and downtime settings on both devices.

4. Ensure passcode protection by setting a screen time passcode.

5. Check for conflicting settings and group apps for total usage time.

6. Reboot devices if necessary.

7. Reset Screen Time settings if none work.

8. Contact Apple Support for tailored help if issues persist.
