HomePod Minis are collective paperweights, nothing more

I have had nothing but issues with all of my HomePod Minis. They constantly ask "Who is speaking?" and to turn the on on the Home App, which already is. They also and consistently give you answers to things you didn't;t even ask, for example, I'll ask to turn lights on and it plays music or ask a question about the weather and will tell me about Ray Charles. Yes, I have lights setup on the Home App. I have contacted Apple Support several times about these issues and they are of no help. The latest one that I spoke to tried telling me that I needed to update one of my Apple TVs to the latest version, although the update just came out the night before, in order to get my HomePod minis to work. Apple is messing up a lot lately.
