Sharing Apple Music access with family

I have my son as a family member on Apple. I have upgraded to the Apple Music family plane and granted him access. Whenever he goes into Apple Music he is unable to access the music and it comes up with a connection error. I can see in both my settings and my sons access to the app is granted and the correct permissions appear to be there but he can’t use it. Any help appreciated. Thanks 🙏
