MiLight products & Apple HomeKit via MOES (Matter) ; MiLight ZIGBEE; MEROSS (matter) etc.,
Mi-Light is a superb manufacturer of lighting toys of varying abilities; it is extremely reasonable and very reliable via the MiLight App. A version 2 “usb box communicater” sits next to the Router and everything is marvellous via the mesh-like manner in which they all operate. NONE of these are the new milight versions that I understand are Zigbee and not the MiLight exclusive frequency - I don't have £thousands to replace it all !
But now, Apple HomeKit (A-HK) is being integrated here with much fun and experimentation with bone-fide Matter periphery. Then the time to re-visit the known incompatibility of Mi-Light to A-HK recommenced once Matter was formally in the public domain. Various sites inferred heavily that MiLight would absolutely operate through a MOES Matter Box fed via CAT6. Yes, it absolutely synch’s with A-HK as expected, but no, so far, it does not ‘see’ any of the myriad MiLight units, controllers & etc., and now confusion seems to be evolving as to interoperability or not via MOES (Matter box). No, the MOES doesn’t even see or allow the MiLight v2 hub box to be found… all Apps and remote controls still operate as expected, it literally is the need the MOES to see MilLight. The MOES app is working but still no talking as hoped for.
Bearing in mind my version of code is the series of numbers used to dial a telephone number, if such input is required, please be gentle! Currently here there are current versions of iOS on an iPhone and iPad Pro (4th G), two HomePod Mini’s with one acting as the hub and 2x A-TV 3rd G and 10.11.9(?) pre-Sierra anyway, on the just fabulous dinosaur of a MAC Pro in the office.
All I want is to know if there is a way to achieve control via A-HK with any of the boxes I have, then how? Presume Apps relevant have been used but failed
If not those , then which one?
If a Pi thing, how and is it code free!? Or easy to do?
I look forward very much to your thoughts and assistance, and already am most grateful .
