CarPlay + 2023 Kia Stinger GT

CarPlay works for 3secs before deciding my iPhone 11 doesn't exist and drops out. Have tried reconnecting the phone but still doesn't work. The car doesn't support wireless CarPlay so I can't use the Voice Recognition prompt. The USB cable is virtually brand new and is a genuine Apple product. So where to from here?

I'm reluctant to take this issue to the stealership bc they know nothing about Apple technology and will likely just say generic stuff like restart the car, re-connect your device, update your phone software (which is done)... they just seem to take a stab in the dark with CarPlay issues.

Wondering just where the connection problem originates:

Check your iPhone is updated to the newest compatible iOS version: (Eg: Settings > General > Software updates.)

Check if there is a firmware update available from the Car manufacturer : ie: look for info on firmware updates in the manual, and /or on the manufacturer's website (eg: support / help / customer care).

Else:

Maybe start from the way Apple suggests you "Set up" below, and see if something has been overlooked ?

(Apple suggests you use an Apple Lightning to USB cable.)
