The "latest" iOS version for the iPhone is 12.5.7.
Check Settings > General > About > iOS Version to see what is currently installed on the iPhone 6.
Unless you have not updated the iPhone 6 in a long time, it already has the "latest" iOS 12.5.7 version that it is capable of using.
The iPhone 6 cannot install iOS 13, iOS 14, iOS 15, iOS 16 or iOS 17.
An iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus isn't capable of 13 or above; they require at least 2GB of RAM. To install 12.5.7, use a computer or the Software Update function in Settings.
