Reopening Convo: iPad Pro charging problem after 17.1.1 update
I have just experienced the same charging issue posted and discussed by Oz_312, fmenard123, rodd244, crjsci, 1hoopstory, rockeulven, LuckySam, Xian Rinpoche, vrsixer, and several others.
After trying all the troubleshooting methods discussed by you all, and seeing that my Apple Care had expired, I resigned myself to its total loss. In preparation, I:
- Removed it from Find My
- Signed Out of Apple ID
- Erased all the content
...and as soon as it rebooted to be set up as a new iPad, the battery life immediately jumped from 15% - 35%, which shocked me, so I plugged it in and it immediately made the BONG noise, showed the lightning bolt in the batter icon, and began charging.
Hope it is not too late for at least a few of you to try these steps to see if it will fix the issue for your iPad, like it has for mine. I would love to hear from you if this helps!
My iPad Pro is the 11". My current software version is 17.3.1, and I am getting ready to install the update to 17.5.1 so it will be interesting to see if the update causes any charging problems, lol.
