I am, running Venture 13.6.7 on my desktop Mac. Whenever I try to connect to iCloud there are problems with synching and downloading files; this can take a long time. I consequently causes issues when trying to update PDF files within Preview.

Running Ventura 13.6.7 on my Mac desktop, and I have issues with synching with iCloud. It takes a long time for to synch, to the point where it is impractical to edit documents in Pages, Numbers, etc and Preview without the system getting stuck in synchronisation mode. Has anyone had a similar issue and is there a solution? I have checked for software updates for this Mac and it informs me that the operating system is up to date!

Thanks Milestones, but tried must of those. Access to the internet (and speed) is not an issue as I have run a speed check and have no issues (router is in the same room) with connecting to the net via Safari or downloading/sending emails. I have previously contacted Apple support on a number of occasions and tried various options/changes with no luck. In the end their comment was it could be due to age of Mac (2017) as the latest OS Sonoma is not compatible to it. I thought I would check the Community to see if anyone else had had a similar issue and had found a way around it before I consider having to buy a new Mac!

You can try the following:


  • Going closer to your WI-FI Router




  • Quit other apps that may be taking up resources and slowing down iCloud Syncing (E.g: Graphic-hungry games or Photoshop)


  • Check for any Computer Viruses
