Should I install iOS 18 Developer Beta on my iPhone?

Can it is okay to install IOS 18 developer beta on my primary Iphone 15 pro max?

No one including Apple has ever recommended to install any beta on a primary device. The answer is absolutely not. Only install Beta software on a device where you can live without it not working and are fine with losing all data on the device.

Testing in production always works out well. 🤦🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️


If you do decide to try that, create and keep a backup from iOS 17, as that is the only path to reverting, short of a reset.


You might want to use a spare Apple ID for iCloud as well, lest something iCloud get converted or corrupted, too.

One additional thing to note. If you have an Apple Watch, you will need to update that to watchOS 11 in order for it to continue to work with your iPhone. But, unlike the iPhone, there is no way to revert the watch's OS back to watchOS 10. This could be a serious issue if you decide to revert your phone to iOS 17.
