MIDI tracks from 2 different GB projects won't synch when bought into a new GB project

This is a strange one I can't fix:

Tried to bring two MIDI tracks from two different Garageband projects (both in 3/4 time) into a new project. I re-set the bpm in both original projects to 120 - the new track is also 120. But the tracks play at two different speeds in the new project.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a fix?

BPM is really just a notation on the time signature, not an absolute reference. Midi tracks are just note-on-note-off events recorded at various times, when you import it, those times are the same.

You can really only change the tempo of an audio track, not midi.

You might have to save it as an audio file.
