AirPlay audio only on HomePod connected to a Apple TV

Hello,

I set up a HomePod in the same room as my Apple TV.

However, sometime I am watching something on Apple TV and want to share audio only of a YouTube video on the HomePod while keeping the video on Apple TV with no sound. However, I am not able to stream the audio only, I am only able to stream video + audio, so it’s taking over on the current video on Apple TV.

Any way to stream audio only of a video on a HomePod while keeping the video from Apple TV with no sound ?

Thanks a lot for your answer. Sorry I wasn’t clear enough. Here is a more concrete example of what I would like to do :

  • keep watching the video on my Apple TV (with no sound) : from an Apple TV app like twitch or any TV app…
  • airplay the audio only of a YouTube video to the HomePod (linked to this Apple TV as it’s in the same room) with my iPhone, and keep the YouTube video on this iPhone (with no sound as it would be streamed on the HomePod)
