Right Channel Speakers of MacBook Stopped Working

Im using a MacBook Pro M1 2020 Model of 16GB RAM and 256GB Storage Variant.

It has been 4 Years since I bought it and there has never been an issue.

A Week ago, I have to visit my HomeTown upon an Emergency for 5 Days.

I never Shut Down My MacBook cause I use it Everyday so I close the Lid which keeps it in Sleep.

As Im being away for more number of Days, I have Shut it Down.

After Coming Back, I Tried to Turn it on by Clicking on the Power Button but it did not Respond. I thought the Charge has been drained(I have Shut it Down at 50%), so I plugged it in and turned on the Power.

A Crackling Sound has come from the Speakers for about 3 Seconds and Stopped.

Nothing showed up on the Screen.

I immediately thought it was Short-Circuited and Cut off the Power Supply. After a While I Plugged in Again and Tried to Turn it On but it did not Respond.

The Next Day I Kept it on Charge and Left it for an Hour. It Turned on but when I tried to open any App , it said "Your Computer was Restarted because of a Problem. Click Report to see more detailed Information and send a Report to Apple".

This Happened 4 Times and then it stopped. Everything was in Place and Working Fine except the Right Channel Speakers which Stopped Working.

I have Reset it , Reinstalled the OS, kept it in Safe Mode, Tested by Creating a New User, and Ran the Diagnostic Test from the Boot Setup which was Successful without any Issues in the Report.

I have contacted the Apple Support Team and they went through all the Troubleshooting and came to a Conclusion that it was a Hardware Issue and needs to be taken to a Apple Service Center.

I have never dropped my Mac. It stayed on my Desk for almost 6 Months without Moving for an Hardware Issue to Possibly Happen and I have never seen it stating a Report that there was a Problem.

Attaching the Report in Additional Text::

I never like my devices to be opened unless there is a Physical Damage and needs a Repair or Replacement.

I buy a new one instead. It is my Personal Choice.

The Same Happened to my iPhone 13 Pro Max where the Screen Completely Went White and then Turned Black which Turned out to be a Software Issue which Killed the Screen.

I have lost all my data which is also Fine.

It is a Global Issue and Apple has offered me a Free Screen Replacement even though I dont have an active Apple Care Plan.

The Service was Perfect and the device is working just like before but Still I Sold it and Upgraded to iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I Hope you understood my Issue.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.5

Troubleshooting Mac Volume:

What to Try:

  • Raise the Volume: If sound is not working, then raise the volume.

  • Remove External Devices: Verify what your output item is. Also, disable Bluetooth, if enabled.

  • "View "Audio" in System Information:
  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Hold Down: option button
  3. Select: System Information...
  4. Click: Audio
  5. Is any speaker issue seen?

Thank you for the screenshot.

All looks fine in the screenshot —so, no worries there.

Power Is Low:

Looking at your report in your original post, the charging port is slow. So, using a new charger and/or replacing the charging port that may make more power to it, thereby maybe fixing this. This is shown as:

  • SCL is stuck low

and…

  • CORE 0 is the one that panicked. Check the full backtrace for details.

So, give Apple a call, seeing what should be done about this. Perform a screensharing session with them, to show them what is seen.

Could you tell me how do I Generate the Report again. So that I could regenerate it again and compare it before giving a Call to Apple instead of showing them the Old Report.

And

The Apple Service Center Technician has performed the Diagnostics Today and mentioned that the Logic Board needs to be replaced to fix this Issue and there is no other way.

He did not mention about the Charging Port issue or any other Existing Issue.

Do you suggest me to visit a different Apple Service Center and get it Checked once again?

Update 2- Have Done the Same and the Apple Support Team Specialist is saying that there is nothing we can do other than Replacing the Logic Board.

Been to a 3rd Party Repair Shop and they checked it.

Informed that the Audio IC and the Power IC are Damaged and there is no Damage to the Speakers. The Damaged ICs have to be replaced via Soldering for 12,000/- compared to Apple Authorised who is only willing to Replace the Entire Logic Board instead of Replacing the Damaged ICs.

Decided to Use it as it is for as long as Possible and Switch to a Windows PC in the Future by changing the Entire Ecosystem to Samsung for Sure.
