The camera app crashes when I press the button to take a photo. Upon the button push, the photo is not taken and the app freezes sometimes. Other times the screen goes black and the app quits altogether. The only immediate fix is to restart the phone. But, the crashing problem keeps coming back. Any ideas?

I have the same issue. I am not able to take pictures using the camera app. My phone also crashes when I take photos when I am in the messaging app. I have been searching online and have not found any luck yet. The only temporary fix is restarting my iPhone.

Report this to Apple:
Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your occurrence, if your don.t report it to them.

Troubleshooting a Camera Crash After and Update:
Having started after a recent update, see the last item (D.)
A. Disable then Enable Cameara:
B. Restart iPhone:
Go Here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
C. Are you Using a Case?
Make sure that the back camera is not covered(somewhat) - For note: the microphone part is located between the lens and the flash. So, make sure all is not covered.
as a last resort...
D. Restore form a Backup:
Have a backup of your iPhone prior to this occurrence? If you are not concerned with losing data, then restore your iPhone from a backup that was made when Wi-Fi was working. Prior to restoring, backup your iPhone, incase anything goes wrong with the restoration. If not backup, then know to always have one created prior to installing an update, to avoid things like this in the future. So, create a backup, prior to this restoration.
