How can I recover Photos from lost iPod Touch 4th Generation?

Hi, I lost my iPod touch 4th generation a long time ago and it had all my photos on it with none backed up on iCloud. I was wondering if there was any way I could get them back? I know it’s a long shot but it still makes me sad to have lost so many photos.
