I am unable to view iPod on my iTunes on my Window with "USB device has malfunctioned" error.

Ok so I bought a 30 pin charger

from my local Apple Store so I could restore my iPod and then I plugged in my iPod and then it said iPod drivers not installed so I installed them and then after it was done installing it popped up for a minute and then iTunes crashed and then windows gives me a notification saying “USB device has malfunctioned” what do I do
