I am unable to sign in to Messages or FaceTime using Apple ID on iPhone

So the problem is that my iMessage and FaceTime keep asking me to put my AppleID but I can’t type it. Then when I looked it up, it said go to settings and turn it off and on again. But my iMessage and FaceTime both are grayed out. How do I fix this?
