iPhone is randomly opening apps while it is off and in my pocket

Ghost touch. Try and force restart your iPhone to see if the issues persist

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button.
4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

You put the phone in your pocket. After a few minutes, the screen locks. Something in your pocket rubs against the screen to wake it up, which the phone interprets as a passcode input.

It's the wrong passcode of course, because your pocket does not know what the passcode might be. After this happens a few times, the phone will lock you out.

You can prevent this type of thing from happening if you wish. You can probably figure it out, but post back if you need some help.

This is a common issue for people who carry their iPhone in their pocket, purse or backpack. There is a simple solution:

Open the Settings App

Tap Accessibility

Tap Touch

Turn off Swipe or Tap to Wake

Going forward, you will need to tap the side power button to wake your iPhone, but you won't inadvertently have your phone do anything on its own when in a pocket.

This has been happening ALOT to me. I’ve had an iPhone since the 4 and this is the first time I’ve given serious thought to getting an android. I am paying $1000 plus for iPhones and they can’t figure out when the phone is in my pocket?
