GoPro videos appear upside down in QuickTime

This is my first MacBook so I am still learning how to use it. But my GoPro videos are appearing upside down when I open them. The icon itself before I click on it is nightside up but then when I enlarge it the video opens upside down. I have tried rotating left twice as well as right twice but the second time I click rotate left or rotate right the video goes back to being upside down instead of nightside up.

Any idea how to fix this?
