Dropped MacBook Air - not starting

I have a MacBook Air mid-2013. It’s been going strong all this time. Last night it was dropped and now it won’t turn on at all. When I press the turn on button I can hear a very quiet whirring when I put my ear to the bottom. It’s like it wants to start but doesn’t have the energy. I get no start up dings or activity from the screen. I disconnected and reconnected the screen connection and the motherboard connection but that changed nothing. I attempted to start up in recovery mode (command+r) which also had no effect. What else can I try? I’d rather avoid taking it to a repair shop because I don’t have much money right now. Thanks for your help!
