Apple Mobile Device Service won't install properly

I was attempting to set up an iPod touch (2nd generation I think) but for some reason it wasn't being installed properly. On further inspection using iMyPhone's Tunes Fix software, the files for the driver we're corrupted. I reinstalled iTunes from the apple website but even that didn't work. I have used other computers but they sadly didn't work either.

If it helps, the iPod in question is using IOS 4.2.1 (8C148)
