Sonoma 14.5 Cannot read a SD card

I have seen many reports that Sonoma cannot read a SD Card. It doesn't show up anyplace using utilities or any other place. Is Apple working on this?? It worked fine until Sonoma came along- very frustrating!! Anyone know sa work around? It does not show so you cannot use a different program or app?? I can go yo my wife's older iMac and it works fine - before Sonoma!! Makes life tough!

Again... Put the card in and "NOTHING"- happens !! Nothing- nada- there is no indication anything happened period- anywhere on the computer. usb works with everything!! I did mention if you go to Google, and put the headline in- There are "Hundreds of complaints that SD cards will not work with Sonoma. I think I may have read it may work in safe mode, but that would be a real pain if it did. I may investigate going back to an older iso. Sonoma has been out for a while- UUuug!! One would think Apple would have had this fixed by now!

The object was to look at the System Report to see if the Mac was seeing your Reader.

Have you run Disk Utility's Disk First Aid on all connected drives?

In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.

Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?

ie: I have been on a Mac for about 4 years, so I'm not familiar with everything(Old PC since the 70s). I have run Etre CheckPro- I have not done all that was listed in the way of the disk utility such as First aid- The disk view "Does Not" show the SD Card. Where to learn or how do I clean up in the Etre check the "Library/Lunch- files ?? Tis is new to me.-Thanks for this. I'm enclosing the Etre files in the Additional text as show in the process of reporting. Thanks again!!-Ron
