How do I turn off list formatting in Notes app?

I tried answering this question but it was not allowing me to reply so i am putting here Q along with answer which i found:

Go to Notes
Select Edit from the Menu
Select Substitution
Select Smart Lists
Turn it off by deselecting it as in the screen shot below:
