Quicktime lagging and choppy on DJI 5.1K and 5.4 K video

QT is not able to play the original video without freezing or be choppy. The videos are from a Mavic Air 2S drone (5.4 K 30 fps) and a Mavic 3 Pro (5.1K 50 fps). The .mov files have been transferred to the MacBook disk. They play perfectly and smoothly in VLC.

I use Quicktime to trim my videos before editing, QT is the best for that. Please don't suggest to use VLC or any other software, they don't do the job as easily.

QT has no problem playing 4K videos from my drones.

I've restarted QT many times, my Mac too and Sonoma is up to date.

I don't understand why QT 10.5 has trouble playing a format larger than 4K?

Any suggestion ?
