I was awaiting a call on my iPhone from Apple Support. When the phone rang, I pressed the green phone icon on my screen to answer the call. I heard an automated voice telling me to proceed with the call I had to press 1. I did so on the keypad, but apparently that did not "send" the 1, even if I also tried adding a press of the # key. How can I press the 1 (or other requested key) in response to an automated call to my iPhone?

The keypad had not been unlocked by the number calling you. It happens sometimes. I think not answering until after the second ring will resolve this. They should call again, so try that. An let us know if that helps.
