Enroll an iPhone into Intune

The company I work for we use Comp Portal for enrollment. During the process an end user kept getting stuck with a pop-up that reads

Security Delay in Progress. You will be notified when the security delay has ended, and you can enroll in MDM

It never actually does anything to get past that point. I have uninstalled the Comp Portal App, Hard Reset the iPhone, changed default browser to Chrome (even though it still went Safari route).

The phone is on the latest iOS version of 17.4.1

From researching online I came across this thread here. Issue stems with Stolen Device Protection.

Apparently turning it off manually it automatically turns itself back on.

Update to this. Have another end user with an iPhone 12 Pro. Same issue as with the iPhone 11. Now I was able to get this to install on an iPhone 14 Pro.

So is this issue only with older model iPhones? Any assistance to this is appreciated.

I advised both my end users into this, and now we are able to get them registered into Intune. So is it safe to assume since these are new employees. That returning to a known location is not an option. They will need to wait out the full hour due to their devices have never been registered with the company.

The security delay will last an hour or until they return to a known location. The user will have to go to settings > general > VPN & Device Management and install the profile at that time. Another notification will not appear.

A known location is for personal devices. That would be their home. If you're issuing devices owned by the org, you should be using Automated Device Enrollment to enroll the devices.
