My airpods wont connect to Find My

I have 2nd generation airpod pros and an Iphone 10. I set up my airpods exactly as the instructions said when I first got them. I recently lost my airpods and tried to look for them on Find My but they weren’t there. I found them again and tried to connect them to Find My in case I loose them again but it won’t work. I followed the instructions on the Apple website to connect my

airpods to Find My, but they wouldn’t connect to it. In the Settings app, it said that my

airpods were connected to Find My, but when I went to the Find My app my airpods didn’t show up. I reset my airpods to see if that was the issue, but now when I go into settings there isn’t even the option to connect to the Find My network. Does anybody know what the issue is or what can I do?
