A pop up is asking me to verify but instead of my Apple ID being the one listed to verify it is my husband's gmail instead.
I can’t find a way to erase his and enter mine.

LoL when replying to your response now it popped up with my name to log in! So for this time I’m good.
Buy the asking me to sign in to Apple when it displayed my husband mad account instead of mine would just happen now and then as a pop up but I was also being prompted in my settings.

That is correct.
We don’t know the exact context regarding just what you’re doing when being asked this question. But each Apple ID owns its own property, and something you’re doing likely involves muddying this distinction.
