IF you're syncing to a different itunes/computer that is expected behavior it will wipe the ipod and replace it with contents of said itunes.'

I found my classic iPod last week and would love to sync it or upload new music from my new MacBook and I am drawing a blank.
I've Mac OS Sonoma version 14.5, iPod classic model A 1238.
Can I sync iPod to the Mac? Can I've the procedure how to do? I'm afraid to loose the iPod songs (around 5000)
