How do I get notifications on my watch

In the Watch app, go to Notifications, scroll down to Messenger under Mirror iPhone Alerts From and make sure it's turned on.

You can't, unless you DL a 3rd party app called WatchMessage... but it kind of seem a little fishy, since it asked you to enter your whole FB sign in information... so I did not DL it.
It's handy for quickly checking and responding to messages without having to take out their phone every time. Although there isn't a standalone Messenger app for the Apple Watch, the notifications feature still allows for easy communication on the go.

As far as I know, you can only see the notifications on the Watch; you can't reply to them.
Meta (aka Facebook) removed their Messenger app from the Apple Watch App Store.
It is possible there is a 3rd party app that do what you want, but you would have to search for it, as most of us in this forum do not know.
Or you could contact Meta and request that they provide an updated Apple Watch app for Messenger.
