"Your i-Phone trade-in has been cancelled"

Good morning!

Last night I received an email stating that my i-Phone trade-in (from September 2023) has been cancelled because my phone was never received, and that the associated loan will resume. However, I did this particular trade-in in the store, my old iPhone was placed in an envelope once a specialist checked it.

This morning, I am chatting with someone from Apple who is saying "Yes it appears a technical glitch with our iPhone upgrade program and our system has canceled your trade-in." They are saying they need to elevate the ticket to ensure that the loan does not resume.

Is anyone else having this issue? This seems weird and kind of fake, but the order in my Apple Store app indeed indicates that the trade-in was cancelled.

Thanks for any insight.

just received another email from Apple (after the inital one discussed above). it says:

"Please disregard the previous email we sent.

Order Number: ------------

You recently received an email with incorrect information regarding your Apple Trade-in. Please disregard our email. There are no issues with your order or Apple Trade-in.

We apologize for any confusion this caused."

Now if they could compensate for the annoyance of having to look up my 6-month-old receipts, all the time wasted dealing with their phone support, etc...
