Quicktime icon has become Reminders icon?!?

This is super weird. Somehow, the icon in my dock for Quicktime player has changed to be the Reminders icon. When I click on it, it brings up Quicktime. I can still open the Reminders app using Spotlight, but it no longer has the red dot with the number of reminders for that day. The dynamic icon showing number of reminders is associated with Quicktime.

This is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen on Mac OS. User since 2002.

Anyone else seen this or have ideas of how to fix it?

Had the same issue. Context: I had the Reminders.app pinned in the dock and QuickTime.app not pinned.

To fix it I:

  • Removed the Reminders.app from the dock (while both apps were closed);
  • Started QuickTime.app - and saw that this time it used it's own icon in the dock;
  • Added the Reminders back afterwards.
  • Done

In case you already had both in the dock, in the first step remove both.

Hope it helps.
