MacBooks showing as Apple TV symbols for screen mirroring

Every classroom in our school has an Apple TV and we have them labeled ATV_location, on our list of Apple TVs when we search to choose one to screen mirror we can see random Macbooks that are showing up with the Apple TV symbol next to them. We have verified that the airplay receiver is turned off on the Macbook. What else might be causing this?
