I am unable to open Messages app on iPhone.

I’m currently experiencing difficulty getting into my imessage app. Everytime I click on the app my screen goes black, then for about 10 seconds or so the screen returns but freezes and I’m not able to click on any messages.

Message app freezing constantly Ever since I’ve switch to the iPhone 13 from my iPhone XS my message app freeze when I open it or when I click on a chat with one of my contacts. I takes a few opens and closes to fix the issue but it happens several times every day. Can some one help? p.s My iPhone is only a few months old and is on its latest version.

Messages app freezes after updating my iPhone to latest iOS 16.4.1 Have 14 Plus and upgraded to latest iOS 16.4.1. 3 days ago. Ever since messages app will freeze and cannot access without shutting down entirely and restarting. No issues with other apps. Have done everything can think of short of wiping phone and restarting. Deleted old messages, tried not using iMessage just text message. Reset settings on phone….have seen a few other post have similar issue so glad it’s not just me…but this is incredibly frustrating…..
