Keynote animations, first build changes back from after transitions to on click…

When creating multiple build sequences in Keynote, why does Keynote always change the first build back from 'after transitions' to 'on-click'? If I wanted it 'on-click' I would have clicked that option in the first place. It is infuriating and a complete waste of time. APPLE please change this!

transition between slides The transition is working well from slide to slide like from slide 9 to slide 10 But when im in the slide navigator and want change the slide from 9 to 23 there is no transition its a hard cut is this a bug ? Can't remove auto change in Keynote 10.1 I'm running Mojave and have started teaching remotely using Keynote. Some of my slides change on the click but some change automatically. How can I get them all to change manually?
