how to import .imovieproject to iMovie 10?

i have quite a few old video projects, made in an old version of iMovie (7 or older) The software does not run anymore, so I cannot open it with the original version.

How to go forward?

seconde, next to this I have a lot digitized dv-tapes. also this do not seem to open with Quicktime. VLC can view, but it is far from ideal.
