Opacity of grouped object

Hi there !

I'm a little bit astonished :

Why can't we adjust the opacity of a group object as a one thing?

Adjusting the opacity of every object in the group is not an option as that produces different results. For example if two or more shapes are overlapped.

I want to affect the opacity of the entire group, like the Opacity Action Effect does.
