Search isn't working on Calendar for MacBook Pro with Sonoma Mac OS 14.2 isn't working

Just got my new MacBook today and was trying to check for some upcoming events on calendar, but the search function is not working. Anyone else experienced this and found a solution? (Not a problem on my iPhone 14 Pro OS17.4.1.) Thanks!

I now have a solution, at least for my case. The issue is that my laptop is "managed" by my university. Our IT organization performed the initial configuration, there is Cisco management software, and there is an IT user account. My account has full administration privileges. However, when I changed my netIT password, the macOS secure token was not updated properly for my account. I could log into my computer but not use my updated netID password to change settings (like accessibility) or access the spotlight database work (so I could not search my calendar). Having my IT support folks come and update my Mac secure token solved the problem.
