Quicktime player won't play when Logic Pro X is open

I need to use quicktime player to view exported video files from Logic to check them. Recently when I try to play videos while Logic is open, Quicktime player will automatically pause the video every time I try to play, or fast forward or rewind. It plays for a millisecond, then pauses instantly. Once I quit Logic it fixes, but I need to have the project still open in case I need to fix something, so that's not a tenable solution. Why is this only happening now? How do I stop it?
