Full story to clarify: I was having problems with the TopHat application and website during a college class. Knowing that TopHat does not work well with Safari or Firefox but seems to prefer Chrome for some reason, I figured maybe the app needs to be updated, also since I was in a college class and TopHat is used for attendance I could not just restart my iPad. So I went to the App Store and it said there was an update available for that application and I clicked ok to install. The App Store icon then changed from the blue with the white A symbol to white with a blue bag with an apple on it and was labeled as Apple Store. When I opened the app the options include Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch etc. but no button for apps. I swiped through to the end where it lists every app and saw App Store with the blue background with the white A logo and clicked that and it opened the Apple Store again. When class ended I turned my iPad off and went home. At home I turned the iPad back on and looked for the App Store icon and did not see it and went to the end of the screens till it listed every app and again tried the link and again it opened the Apple Store not the App Store. I googled Apple App Store and found a webpage that will allow you to sign in and update apps and used that. The next day I turn on the iPad to try again and respond to the replies and there is the App Store icon on the first page between Microsoft Word and the Camera, that is not where I had it. I had the App Store icon on the second screen, I believe some other apps were shifted as well. I do not know exactly what happened but when I agreed to the update for the App Store app the update from Apple deleted and disabled that app. Apple is the publisher of the apps and the operating system if they choose to delete the app they can because it is their coding that does not allow users to delete it. I can tell you what happened I cannot tell you the why, but I figured I would share what happened to me in case someone else would experience something similar.
