wi fi connected but no ip address

Just changed from by to 3 home broadband, all my apple items connect ed ok and stay connected. However my best top Mac only connects when I re set the router and only for a short period

in network Wi-Fi shows as connected sometimes but mainly shows no ip address

i have tried re boot and restart computer but still remains the same

any help would be appreciated as I am losing the will to live wit it

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13
