I have a new iMac, and some of the newer features are unfamiliar. I have an MP4 audio file that I wanted to trim using QuickTime. But when I open the file, most of the edit functions are greyed out, particularly Trim. I looked at a question that gave criteria for the edit functions to be available, and I think I satisfy those conditions, namely it’s an open, unedited file.
What am I missing?

Trimming audio-only files (.m4a) is available when I try it. 🤷♂️
Thanx. I tried again a little later, and the trim bar in your illustration was there. Still unsure what I missed. I wound up resorting to Rogue Amoeba's Fission, which has a bit more functionality. 🤔😉😊
