receiver stopped controlling apple TV

until the last update, my Yamaha receiver remote was able to navigate menus and control my AppleTV... now, perhaps since the last update, this isn't working. The AppleTV remote is able to control the volume and power of the system as it always has been, but it was nice to be able to control with the Yamaha remote, which has play/pause forward/backward etc.

Any ideas??
