Recently I sometimes noticed this weird issue where my trackpad doesn't work in Google Chrome. I can move my cursor, but I cannot click or highlight any text in the browser. I also cannot scroll up or down on the webpage. My keyboard also doesn't seem to work. Whenever I use a command like Cmd + T to create a new tab, nothing happens. Why is this happening?

I have exactly the same issue but with Safari as well. I’ve done a complete reinstall of my ipad and it’s still the same. The keyboard is still under warranty so will try and get it replaced to see if the issue persists.I have an M1 iPad Pro 11”.

it's happening not just on magic keyboard/trackpad, but also the ones on the macbook itself.
Does this issue only happen in Google Chrome? Have you tried to see if you can duplicate it in Safari? ... or any other web browser?
It looks like there is no issue in Safari.
Then it looks like the culprit here, is Google Chrome ... probably another good reason not to use it. If you prefer the Chrome interface, may I suggest that you try the Brave browser instead?
