Always On Display Turns Off Automatically (iOS 17.4, iPhone 15 Pro)

Under the Display & Brightness settings of my iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 17.4), I've enabled the Always On Display feature. However, I've noticed that it automatically turns off after a period of time.

I understand that there are specific conditions under which the Always On Display turns off, such as when the phone is face down or not near a paired Apple Watch. However, I assumed it would function more like a 'sleep mode,' where it would reactivate when the phone is picked up. Unfortunately, this isn't the case, and I have to manually re-enable it each time, which is inconvenient.

I would appreciate any advice on how to maintain the Always On Display setting continuously enabled. Thank you!

I'm sure it's been reported "many many times" on these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported it directly to Apple?"

Do your Part: Apple rarely reads these forums on their own time. So, to get the word out to Apple on this, provide them with feedback. They won't get back to you directly on this, but the more they hear of it, the more they will know what problems exist and how to go about fixing them. So, do you part and provide feedback on it. Be certain that you are positive with the feedback (elsewise, it'll likely be filtered out).

Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
Comment: that this all started after installing an update, and how you have troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.

I have this too on iPhone 14 Pro Max since iOS 17.4.1. It’s a bit annoying. They give you a feature, you get used to it then they take it away. I don’t really understand why.
