Fraudulent Credit Card purchase

I have received an unauthorized credit card transaction on my credit card that notified me that I had spent S$1825.75 from the Apple store. When I took a close look at the merchant's name reflected in the statement, it was stated as "APPLE.COM/SG, www.apple.comSG". Can you verify if this email is authentic so that I can get back to the bank as soon as possible?

We are all other users here and cannot confim definitively that this email is authentic or not.

However, if there are no purchases listed in your account or you have knowledge of a purchase, the first and only place to address this is with your card issuer because there is the possibiliity of your account having a problem. Request a new card and change your Apple ID and passwords.

If the charge is not shown when you check you purchase history as babowa mentions, it's a decade-old scam where criminals pose as Apple or other major retailers. See these articles:

When it happened to us it was "from" another major U.S. retailer, but one with whom we'd done no business since before online sales existed. Big clue. Our card issuer quickly identified the problem—my wife's card number had been compromised, so she was issues a new number.

Once we contacted our card holder AMEX, they had the issue fully resolved in 24 hours, and we've had no more bogus charges.

The SG stands for Singapore.

This is the true URL for the Apple Singapore store:

Apple (Singapore)

Same site with a deliberately misspelled URL so the forums don't turn it into link.

ww.apple.com/sg/

Since your credit card issuer contacted you, and you know you didn't make any such purchase, then it's clear someone else has your credit card info and used it (or tried to use it) to purchase an item.

Have your credit card company reverse the charge if it went through. Also have them cancel that card and issue you a new one.
