Well my cellular data has always been on and as soon as I did the 17.4 update it deleted all of my voicemails and the carrier said they couldn’t be retrieved because they don’t even see any deleted voicemails. It’s like they were never there. I kept voicemails of my mom who passed away and now they’re gone forever and the carrier said that that shouldn’t have happened but there was nothing he could do. Do, I feel like there should be a warning about this spelled out so we can make informed decisions before installing these updates.
If they were deleted from the carrier’s voicemail server that had nothing to do with your iPhone. Sounds like a glitch in their network server. If your carrier is AT&T remember they had a major outage recently.
I didn’t assume anything, either way, I said "If you don’t have a cellular network connection…”. I didn’t say "you don’t have a cellular network connection…"
Log in to your carrier’s voicemail server. They have instructions on their website, but usually you either hold the “1” button on your phone keypad or you call your own number. Are the voicemails there, or not?
yes, they are there. i started a new discussion because, as i've said, it's apple's fault. they need to show us how -- or provide an update -- to get them back on our devices, with the transcoded text. i need this for a legal action i am involved with.
Visual Voicemail requires a cellular network connection, so go to Settings/Cellular and make sure cellular data is turned on.
what does that have to do with all saved voicemail disappearing after the 17.4 ios update?
If you don’t have a cellular network connection your voicemails will not be redownloaded from the master copy on your carrier’s voicemail server.
why would assume i don't have a cellular connection, i do. and why would they need to be redownloaded? are you saying the update intentionally removes the local copies?
I lost all my old VM’s with the current OS update. I called and talked to Apple they don’t know and said they would have someone call me but they never did. Has anyone figured out this issue yet?
I have a cellular connection, so what else could be problem?
Update to 17.4.1.
Same for me! There’s got to be a way to get vack.
