iMovie Library greyed out when trying to import from iOS to Desktop?

Attempting to import my iMovie Projects from my iPhone onto my Desktop. Following the instructions when I get to "import ios iMovie Projects" with my iPhone plugged in via USB, there are no projects available to import.

Would love some guidance on how to troubleshoot

iMovie latest update on Ipad no longer exports a MOV file I have just updated iMovie on my IPad Pro (2nd Oct 23). Before I could export (save to files) as a MOV file. Now it will only save as a imoviemobile file. Which will only play back on iMovie. Obviously where I could easy playback my files as MOV (on various platforms), now I’m limited to just using my Ipad. Why have Apple done this, and what is the easiest way around creating files I can use?

downloading videos from new iPhone 14 to iMovie. videos do not download in full color to iMovie from newer iPhones. When I bring videos from my new iPhone 14 they are all washed out. they don't download as they look on the phone. Is there a setting in iMovie as to what format the videos must be in?
